Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest’s A Blooming Affair Fashion Show is pleased to welcome the Child Witness Centre as the charity partner for 2017 and 2018. Proceeds from the raffle, sold at the show on Wednesday, October 4, will go to support The Child Witness Centre’s efforts to provide support, information and advocacy for children and youth affected by crime.
For more than 25 years the Child Witness Centre has been giving kids in the Waterloo Region, Guelph and Wellington County a voice. Through various services, they help provide a safe place for children and youth who were a victim or witness of abuse or violence. They assist children and families through the investigation, ensure the child and family get the support they need, and advocate on their behalf through the court system.
“We are very excited to work with Child Witness Centre over the next two years” expresses Tara Hebblethwaite, chair of the A Blooming Affair Fashion Show Committee. “They do amazing work in the community, and we are excited and honoured to be able to assist them with their cause”
A Blooming Affair Fashion Show, which in its initial stages was a flower showcase, has become the premier fall fashion event in the region, attracting over 800 men and women annually. In addition to celebrating beauty, fashion and style, each year the event supports a local charity with a focus on those supporting children and women. This year’s event will be held at the stunning LOT42 Campus located on Ardelt Place on Wednesday, October 4, 2017.
